What happens during a colposcopy?

Your gynaecologist will use a speculum to open up the vaginal wall to get a good look of your cervical region. Your cervix will be washed using a vinegar-based solution to help with the better visualisation of abnormal cells.
Your doctor may suggest a biopsy to confirm the presence of cancerous cells if there are any present.
